NTP Trophies
The NTP trophies have for many years been a bottle of wine sponsored by long-time member Peter Drayton.
On many occasions, NTP trophies are not collected on the day of the event necessitating return and transporting to the following event together with the trophies for the subsequent game.
To avoid the inconvenience of repeated transport of uncollected wine trophies, the Board has determined that wine trophies not collected on the day of the event will be available for collection during office hours, from the office of Di Prinzio Concreting Pty Ltd, 7 Tara Road, Broadmeadow, during the period between the event at which the trophy was awarded and the following event only. Wine trophies not collected during this period will be forfeited.
NTP Markers
The NTP marker plates will soon be replaced with NTP discs engraved to define each grade. The NTP marker disc is to be placed immediately behind the ball.
The NTP marker disc is a moveable obstruction under the Rules of Golf. Accordingly, players are legally allowed to move an NTP marker before making a stroke and replace the marker in the original spot.
Should a player accidently hit the disc during a putt on the green, the stroke is cancelled and replayed without penalty from the original spot.
Scoring and MiScore
The July Club Newsletter advised of the intention to transition to total digital scoring via the MiScore app. It is proposed that following the October event, only MiScore users will be eligible for event trophies.
The following process will be followed in determining the placings in each grade:
• The Sponsoring Club is notified of our grades split and will set these up for the leaderboard
• MiScore users submit scores on completion of their round which report to the leaderboard
• For players who don’t use MiScore they need to have their cards entered either via the proshop, direct entry or scanning depending on the event venue set up.
• All competition scores will then appear on the leaderboard by grade with countbacks automatically computed and made available to the Club’s scorers
• Scorers will review the top scores for penalty points adjustments
• The leaderboard can will be displayed for all grades, which gives each player a unique number for the member’s draw using a random number generator
• The ball comp can also be finalised by grade

Event Payments
In the interest of reducing the burden on Board members at golfing and social events, members are requested to make the advertised payments for both golf days and social events in advance of the event.
Please make your payment into the following account, ensuring that the event and your initial and surname is included in the Message Box (eg Initial Surname):

Should you need to cancel your golf event registration after having paid, your payment will be allocated to the next game.
It is intended to phase out game day payments, the date for which will be announced at a coming event.
However, last minute registrants will still be able to pay on the day.
Event Scoring
To speed up the scoring and presentation of trophies at events, it is intended to transition to total digital scoring via the MiScore app. Should you not have the app installed, download it from the App Store or Google Play Store. Add your home club and login using your club membership username and password. Your home club will probably make the app available free of charge for you home course. To expand the app use to all courses requires an annual subscription of $19.49.
The Board will liaise with each of the Proshops to arrange a print-out of the event scores in three grades. The scorers on the day will then apply the penalty points to finalise presentations.
Visitors will compete for a separate Visitor’s Trophy only. Visitors without a handicap will be assigned a handicap by the Match Committee (maximum 27). Use or otherwise of the MiScore app will not affect the NTP trophies.
Members who haven’t access to MiScore or do not have a handicap need to fill out a score card and enter the results in the Proshop either by manual entry, or scanning depending on the venue setup, to be included in the results.
Christmas in July
In the May Club Newsletter, members were advised of the upcoming Christmas in July event on 26 July 2026 at the 3 Sicilians Ristorante at Club Stockton commencing at 12.00pm.
Registration for this event was invited by email on 22 June 2026.
Should members wish to take advantage of Club Stockton’s courtesy bus and be picked up from the Stockton Ferry Wharf at 11.30am, they must advise Secretary, Ross Lewis ([email protected]) by Monday 20 July in order that the Club can be provided with numbers. The courtesy bus will only be available if sufficient numbers warrant.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Club is scheduled for 24 August 2026, following the Newcastle Golf Club event.
Members will soon be receiving further AGM advice by mail-out. Included will be the calling of nominations for the election of seven Club Directors (of which 3 positions shall comprise the Executive being President, Captain and Secretary).

Members may have noticed recent email correspondence from Mikayla Haddow of Master Builders Group Training & Personnel (MBGTP). Following Mark's resignation from the role of Secretary, MBGTP has kindly agreed to take on some of the tasks associated with Club event administration. The Board greatly appreciates this support.

Board Meetings – Invitation
The Board has resolved to invite interested members to attend Board meetings as observers.
This is intended to give members who may be considering nomination for a Board position a better understanding of Club management and the matters that come before the Board.
Any member wishing to attend a Board meeting must advise the Secretary in advance, noting that member attendance as an observer will be limited to four per meeting and some agenda items may necessarily be addressed “in camera”.
Board meeting dates for the remainder of 2026 are 15 June, 17 August and 9 November.
Club Sponsorship
The Club relies heavily on sponsorship to support its events. Unfortunately, current economic conditions have affected the number of sponsors available.
If you can offer sponsorship personally, or know of a company that may be interested, please contact Treasurer Scott Norrish, who will follow up on your suggestion.
National Tournament
The Master Builders Australia Golf Tournament, played for the M R Hornibrook Cup, will be held in Brisbane this year from 11 to 15 October.

Members would be aware that all NTP trophies are now allocated to par 3s with the C grade trophy being 2nd shot.
For C graders, should their 1st shot land on the green, they still have a second shot to record a closer result.
The Board took this action recognising that many NTP trophies were not being claimed.
Be aware that NTP trophy winners must be present at the presentation to avoid trophy forfeiture.
Unredeemed Prize Vouchers
The Treasurer reports that the percentage of unredeemed vouchers is increasing.
Members are reminded that vouchers expire on 31 December the year after being awarded. Also, be aware that some golf clubs will accept vouchers as credit against annual dues. It is suggested that you speak with your club Secretary/Manager or equivalent.
Club Polo Shirts
Stock is limited to three XXL white polo shirts. Contact Peter Di Prizio should you be interested.
Christmas in July
Please mark your calendar for 26 July, commencing at 12.00 pm, for this annual event at the award-winning 3 Sicilians Ristorante at Club Stockton.
Full details will be distributed closer to the event.

Members are reminded that the Club’s Annual Subscription falls due on 1st day of February each year and must be paid within 3 months after the fee is due in compliance with the Club’s Constitution (Clause 7.1 (d)).
