Be advised that the inaugural Annual General Meeting of the club was held after the golf at Newcastle Golf Club on Monday last.
As a consequence of the receipt of 4 nominations for the 3 available committee positions, a Ballot was conducted in accordance with the club constitution. The results of that election are published in the Minutes of the meeting, which can be accessed online by clicking HERE.
Members need to be aware of the following items arising from the meeting
7.02 Captain Peter, due to an extended absence overseas, has missed lodging a valid nomination by the closing date. He apologises to the membership for this oversight and expresses a desire to continue serving the club in the office of Captain. There being no valid nomination, the position of Captain was declared a casual vacancy.
7.05 Rule 16.1 of the Club Constitution obliges the Committee to fill any Director casual vacancy from amongst appropriately qualified persons. The committee therefore invites expressions of interest for the vacant position of Club Captain. These should be submitted on the standard Nomination Form (attached) and submitted to reach the club secretary no later than 5:00pm on Monday 29th August. The committee will then determine an appropriate selection process and the 2016/17 Captain will be installed before c.o.b. at our next scheduled golf event.
