This is a personal challenge for you to SPONSOR a team from YOUR ORGANISATION and come along for a fun day of golf, camaraderie and dining at Merewether Golf Club on Tuesday 27th August.

Be advised that this event is an AMBROSE competition. Field to consist of groups of 4 players each, each team marking their own  card.

We welcome Smith & Sons  as major sponsors of the day. Thanks also to Merewether Professional Golf Shop for our NTP prizes and a special rate on the golf carts; old stalwarts IronBark Hill Wines; and regulars Hunter Star Mercedes.  Members may wish to check out all of the sponsors' websites by following the links (blue text, underlined, OR clicking on their logo) in the notice.

Cart hire is up to the individual. To avoid disappointment, it is considered prudent to book carts in advance with  the Pro Shop (ph. 02 4963 1869 ). 

Egg & Bacon or Sausage & Egg rolls will be available ($6 with $2 to the charities) at the Bush Barn near the Pro Shop/practice green before tee-off and also at half way.  Play will be followed by a 3 course sit down dinner in the clubhouse, as well as our Charity Auction to benefit the Variety, the children's charity in the Hunter.  Players are encouraged to invite their partners/wives/friends to dinner, which will be $40 per head.

Entrants are encouraged to seek a SPONSOR for their team, to the tune of $50 per sponsor, or $100+ for a GOLD SPONSOR, all to be acknowledged throughout the event. 

Last year's Auction items included... 

• 4 games of golf + carts at The Vintage plus overnight accommodation at the Grand Mercure Vintage. 
  
• 4 games of golf + carts at Kooindah Waters plus overnight accommodation at the Mercure @ Kooindah.
  
• 2 games of golf + carts at Bonville Golf Resort including 2 nights accommodation @ AQUA VILLA RESORT.
  
• 4 games of golf + carts at Pacific Dunes, practice balls, club hire & a main meal @ The Dunes Restaurant.
  
• Dinner for 2 at Merewether Golf Club + bottle of wine to $100.
  
• Dinner for 2 at Scratchleys on the Wharf to $100.
  
• Ross Gigg at Newcastle Trots pledged a dinner/night out for 4 persons.
  
• Lunch at Newcastle Jockey Club on a Saturday race day in October, for 4 guests in Chevals Restaurant plus bottle of wine.
  
• A limited edition Metroll Water Tank esky.  

In addition the following generous donations were pledged....

• $1000+ raised by the membership from 2 x IronBark Hill wine raffles
  
• $1000 from Newcastle Master Builders Association.
  
• $3.00 per player from Merewether Golf Club (last year, $207)
  
• $3.00 per player from Newcastle MBA Golf Club  (last year, $207)
  
• $2.00 per diner from G&C Sinclair Catering at Merewether Golf Club  (last year, $340 incl B & E rolls)
  
• $2.00 for every egg & bacon or sausage and egg roll sold ~ Bush Barn, MGC ~available 9:30am 'til 1:30pm.
