Strictly speaking, under the rules of golf, Stableford is in fact a STROKE event, with a built in allowance for a single disastrous hole score.
The match committee has determined that N MBA GC Championship RESULTS will still be determined on a pure STROKE score, but in the interests of all of those players who would prefer not to participate in a stroke event, the DAILY PRIZES on each round of the championships will be awarded on STABLEFORD scores. This keeps all players in the game.
This simply requires that those competing for the Club Championship competition will need to putt out and record a stroke score on each and every hole. Everyone fills in their stableford points.
HOWEVER ~ members are encouraged to putt out. On a number of occasions over the last several years, Championship prizes valued as highly as $50 have remained unclaimed because not enough players putted out (therefore disqualified) OR couldn't remember how or even if they scored in the first round.
